In my day of "Healing the World" one patient at a time, one of the biggest complaints I get is that people don't have enough energy to get through the day. There are many reasons for this, some are easy to correct and others take a little effort on your part.
So how would you rate your energy on a 0-10 scale? Where zero is no energy and 10 is all the energy you will ever need. How do you rate? Are you a 8, or even a 5, maybe a 3 or are you hovering around a 1 or a 2? It is amazing to me how many people are consistently around a 5, that means they are at 1/2 of there energy potential. So where does all that life sustaining energy go? If we go back to our younger days when we were in science class, we learned that energy is neither created or destroyed. Patients ask me if that is the case why am I so tired all the time, how can I find out where it went?
The SIMPLE Answer is that YOU are using too much energy to carry out your internal functions and there isn't enough left for your outgoing energy levels. That is why some some days you have more energy than others.
To understand where it went, we must first look at what we use energy for. So I ask you, what is energy used for in your body? Right! It is used for everything!
If we take a look at energy in the body it has a measurement or frequency called MHz(Megahertz) which is simply is a way to measure how much energy or electricity is being used. For instance, the brain functions at about 72-78 MHz, the digestive system at about 58-65 MHz, the respiratory system at about 58-65 MHz, the elimination system at about 58-63 MHz. That is the amount of energy used on a regular basis, if your energy systems are functioning optimally. If you are only functioning at 1/2 of your energy needs, can you see how all these functions will be decreased by what ever percentage you are deficient?
Is it now wonder we live in a country that has stomach or digestive problems(antacids), elimination problems(constipation, diarrhea), respiratory problems(allergies, asthma, bronchitis, etc), difficulty thinking and making decisions(dementia, foggy headedness, indecisiveness).
There are multitudes of reasons why our energy decreases and that is
too much information for this post. The short answer is to do things
to improve your digestion, elimination, breathing and thinking. I will
delve into these topics in greater detail in upcoming posts, so watch
for those. For now, just take inventory of your body, are there foods
that you know that you have problems digesting, and you eat them
anyway? What do you think happens when you eat that food over and over
again? Does it increase your energy or lower it? Another sign might be
heartburn, whether occasional or not it is a digestive weakness
stealing energy. Do you experience bloating or gas after meals? Yep,
stealing your energy, can you see that the body has to work harder and
longer on those particular foods? How's your Elimination? It is said
that you should have 1-3 bowel movements per day, if not, your bowels
are using too much energy. So constipation and diarrhea, even if
occasional is an issue. It would surprise you to find out(since it is
not a topic discussed at the dinner table or your favorite restaurant)
that many people only eliminate every other day or even every 2 days.
How much energy is being wasted(no pun intended) there? If you are a coffee drinker, you have to ask what happens if you skip a day of the coffee? Okay, right, you never skip a day, so are your B.M.'s before or after you drink your first cup. For many, it isn't until after they have their first cup.
So in a world where we drink more ounces of soda, coffee and energy
drinks than our brain actually holds fluid, is the answer starting to
stare you in the face yet? Now by no means is this a complete list,
everything that stresses our body either in a good way or a bad way
utilizes energy. We eluded to poor diet, things we eat and drink.
Pollution adds to the stress on our systems. The EMF's in the WIFI at
your local coffee shop, computer screens, TV's etc. all add to the
stress. How well do you sleep? If you are not getting 6-8 hours of
sleep you are not rebuilding your energy reserves. If you are Emotionally stressed(anxiety, depression) that steals energy. We haven't talked about the naturally and unnaturally
occurring functions and organisms in the body yet either. There are SO many variables to look at, we must look at the most effective and easiest to change.
Fear not! These will be topics of upcoming posts! For now, the best thing you can do for yourself is identify your energy level and look at some of the things above that might be slowing you down and decreasing your energy levels. Then through a process of elimination, meaning excluding certain foods and drinks for 2 weeks and see how you feel, you will see what foods and drinks effect you negatively by stealing your energy. Another thing you can do is increase your water intake. Yes, I know there is a big controversy over how much water to drink, lets just say that the electrolytes(energy molecules) are moved along in water. So without it, your energy decreases. Be sure it is clean, purified, chlorine and chemical free water. If it isn't, then your body is wasting energy to clean out the water you drink. Neither of us want that, correct? Correct!
I have given you a lot, I know, but if you will make some of the changes above, your energy will increase in the next 2 weeks. Simply by allowing the body more energy for external use(the FUN energy).
Blessings to You!
